This Autumn Winter collection was inspired by 'Gran's Garden', whether it be your Gran or the neighbourhood Gran beloved by all the kids on the street. This timeless collection invokes nostalgic memories of precious quality time spent between grandparent and grandchild in the back garden. From harvesting veggies and planting seeds, to picking flowers and clearing leaves and sticks from the driveaway, we all have treasured childhood recollections we carry in our hearts.
I still cherish the memories I have with my grandparents in their garden, and getting to see my children enjoying the simple pleasures of pottering in the garden with their grandparents is a joy.
With this collection we wanted to work with a fresh take on an aesthetic reminiscent of times gone by, of course with our usual Burrow and Be twist. With the introduction of the classic stripe and featuring new earthy colours in our ever popular Derby Rib fabric and knitwear, we think we achieved the perfect mix of classic and modern. Particularly in our new stripe sweater for boys that we know will be an absolute favourite, thanks to it's timeless block colours and stripes, and knitted in earthy on trend colours.
We also revisited collaborating with one of our favourite designers - Sarah Simons (@themintgardener), from Seattle, USA. Sarah is an avid gardener so we knew she was the perfect designer to partner with, to really bring this collection to life. Sarah's garden is the modern day version of the lush Gran’s gardens we grew up with, and provided all the inspiration we needed to bring you another stunning collaboration.
